Enhanced Lifeline & Linkup
Enhanced Lifeline is a program for all households on any Indian reservations. If you qualify for Enhanced Lifeline, your monthly basic local telephone rate will be $1.00 (one dollar) plus taxes and fees. Call GRTI for an Enhanced Lifeline application or print one from the website. Either mail or fax it to GRTI office in Lone Butte Industrial Park.
How do you qualify? - If you live on an Indian reservation and participate in one of the nine programs, you qualify for Enhanced Lifeline.
- Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance
- Tribally-Administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TTANF)
- Head Start (Income eligible only)
- The National School Lunch Program's Free Lunch Program (Free Lunch Meals)
- Medicaid
- Food Stamps (DES - cash/family/general assistance)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8)
- Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
- Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
You may also qualify if your household income is at or below 135% below the poverty level. Please click HERE to see the table for income guidelines.

How do I apply? - Complete an Enhanced Lifeline application form and mail it to GRTI, or drop the form off at the GRTI office in the Lone Butte Industrial Park. If you have any questions about your service or need an application you can print one HERE or you can call GRTI Customer Service at (520) 796-3333.
When you qualify for Enhanced Lifeline you also qualify for Link-Up. Link-Up pays up to 50% of your installation fee (up to $75) when you start your initial service.
You only need to participate in one of the programs listed above to qualify, some telephone companies or states may vary in qualifications depending upon their regulations. If you are not a GRTI customer, call and ask your local telephone company for an Enhanced Lifeline application.
